Our Vision
Announced late in 2022, the East Havering Data Centre campus, Green energy infrastructure & Ecology Park project will deliver 1,024 local jobs, a new public green space, and new digital infrastructure to support the local and wider UK economy.
The project, being brought forward by Digital Reef in collaboration with Havering Council, is set to become a leading centre for the development of green technology, across energy, waste, agriculture, and land management, supporting the advancement of local skills in the science and technology, sustainability, and data economy sectors.
The scheme is also set to increase access to green spaces for all and will include an extensive and fully accessible 113-hectare Ecology Park – equivalent to more than 174 football pitches - which we want to deliver together with the community using local insights to help inform our final designs with new footpath and cycling routes to support accessibility.
Take a closer look at how the proposal will blend seamlessly into the natural landscape.
Benefits to the People of Havering
The plans for the Campus have advanced significantly and the team appreciate all input on the scheme, to help advance plans and ensure that benefits are felt locally. The scheme is currently subject to the Local Development Order (LDO) process. This is led by the Local Planning Authority (LPA) and more information about this process can be found here. The LPA have commissioned the Environmental Impact Report regarding the scheme, using an independent third party which will address potential environmental considerations. Once this is complete, the proposals will be presented to Members of the Strategic Planning Committee and if they feel that the proposal has merit, the scheme will be formally consulted by the LPA later this year.
